HAPPY EASTER

Its busy now here at the cattery, so our posts will come monthly, the kittens are now being born and we currently have two litters of new babies, 2 Blue Spotty boys, 2 blue Tabby cp girls 2 chocolate cp's and 2 lilac cps. Our little Betty Boo left home today for Canada, I was nervous until I got the skype call that she had arrived safe. All happy now in Canada and exxpecting babies shortly.The Cattery is busy now with Easter and the Royal Wedding adding an extra busy weekend here. We off to Tica show at the end of the month first show for us of the Tica Season, were going to take our new boy Billy-Bob blue and white Colourpointed boy. Well it's been busy were have been painting sheds, decking, repairing run doors and generally getting ourselves back up to scratch after a long and cruel winter, we have lost our Austrailian Flax which had pride of place in our center boarder.The pampass grass has survived however we set light to it to promote some new growth. Web site now back up and running !

Well hopefully all is back and working now, it's been busy time again, and with lotties 7 babies growing at a rate of knots, she is keeping us on our toes.

We are now waiting for Muffin our Blue Tabby girl to have her babies, and I am really excited to see what she has last time we had endedup with no babies so we have all our fingers crossed here. Ripley our Devon baby is now 9 weeks old and she is beautiful I cannot bring myself to let her go so she will be staying here with us.

Funny week at The Lodge !

We had a lovely weekend, Gwenn and I took two of the babies to the coventry and leicester show, little Angel did very well and was placed first and took the Bob. It was a long day but worth the trip to see some old friends, as I have not be at a show for ages it was nice to see and chat with my cat friends. Sunday was not good I woke up with a stinking cold, which has knocked me for six, and it's only been today that I felt a bit better, who said running a cattery was great fun ! in the summer it's wonderful, but not good when your cold and feeling ruff !
On a better note lottie's babies are doing really well and eyes are starting to open, we have 7 babies and gwenn is like a doting grandmother, checking them every 20mins. Katie's babies, are huge, and look like 5 week olds and they are only just 3 weeks, Pearls babies are just adorable now 4 weeks and want out of there baby box, to explore, next week we will start to ween them. Isis still has not produced any babies,so still up doing my twice nightly baby checks.

For those who normal look at my web site, it's unfortunatley it's still down and I am not sure when it will be up and running again, I have had so may problems with Easyspace I am in the process of moving all the site's to a new hosting company. I still have lots of work to finish the 3 sites I have but time is very short here at dixylan.

New Babies have arrived at Dixylan

We have babies at last the house has been very quiet with out babies, but Katie and Pearl have given birth 2 babies each 1 Blue tabby boy, 1 Blue Tabby Cp Girl, P( Pearls Babies) 1 Lilac Cp Boy, 1 Chocolate cp Girl. We has a early start on sunday morning as we had to deliver Harvey and Potter to stafford for there onward journey to Hull and across to the Hook of holland, both have now arrived safely in there new homes potter is in Frankfurt and Harvey is living in Nordhorm.

We had a busy weekend in the Boarding cattery as it's half term in the uk. We said goodbye to ellie this week, we bought ellie to help with our colourpointed and white programe, but after 2 years ellie never wanted babies so now living a life of luxury, with Elanin In Hemel Hempstead. We will also say goodbye to China who has also been speyed ready for a new home, china was my very first Tabby pointed and has made a fantastic contribution to my tabby point programme. Another busy week as we are waiting for babies from two of our girls Isis and Lottie. Well that's all for today will post pictures when we have new babies.

Well it's that time again, babies have arrived , pearl has two beautiful babies one, chocolate cp girl and 1 lilac cp boy, very large babies, but alas not the babies we are waiting for Katie, is the size of a beached whale, and still nothing they were due on the 4th.

We have this week been mostly chasing the pots and litter trays all over the garden our green house ended up on the garage roof, looked quite funny but not when I had to climb up and get it back, it was quite funny all the cats were sat watching god knows what they must have thought.

Today we were at the vets getting two cats ready for new homes in Germany and Holland, mircochipped and rabies shots, they really were unhappy with me by the end of the day. I have decided to retire 4 girls this year, so will have available to pet homes only 2 beautiful tabby cp girls 2 cp girls, if anyone is interested in giving these girls forever homes only please.

We are looking forward to our visit to our first show of 2011 I am taking two babies out, so it will be hard work, but enjoyable, I will post our results on the blogger .

Its also a sad week, lulu's 5 babies go to new mums and dads this week, and so I am busy putting together there kitten packs. Well that's our news for this week, check back next week to see new pictures of Pearls babies, and maybe katies.......

Morning to all, here is the weekly update from Cattery Dixylan ! No babies as yet, they were due on the 29th but we are still waiting, katie's babies are due on the 4th of Feb, so I have to stay put for a few days, which will give me time to catch up on the web site, which is still missing lots of it's content. Lulu's babies will be going to new mum's and dads next week, so I am busy this week putting together the kitten packs for them to go with. Pinkie's baby our beautiful little devon first ! is growing at a rate of knots and so different to British babies, I just love them. I have just mated my Lilac Spotty girl Felicity freckles to my lilac boy George will be lovely to have some spottie's again . Well thats all for now, apart from if anyone would like to adopt older british girls? I have two lovely girls looking for new homes, please email for further info.

Wednesday Already !

Well it's been eventful this week, our lilac girl went into lady 2 days early, she had 6 lovely babies, but sad to say none have survived, such a shame such beautiful babies all perfect. Who ever said it was easy to breed cats should try it. After over 20 years It never gets any easier to loosebabies. Its mum I feel for she look miserable now. I do hope this is not a sign of how the year will be. Thanks to all who added comments on the facebook site. This week has been a bit of a blur as I have been up for the past two nights.

On a brighter note we do have some unexpected babies due, my lodger has one of my Blue Tabby and White cp girls, she was living with george ( Lilac cp ) in the house, needless to say george has been a naughtly boy, these will be due in 3 weeks time hope all to go well. Katy our blue girl is due on the 4/02/11 and pearl our lilac cp girl is due a litter on the 29/01/11. I have posted some new pictures of the Lilac's due to go on the 9th of Feb hope you all like them ( New Owners)

Where has the week gone !

Well I dont know what has happened to the week, I could not get to the vets on Monday for 1st vacine on the last of my babies, so it was wednesday before they had there jabs, sorry new owners they will be a little late coming to new mummy's. The weather has been cold and wet yet again, no fun in a cattery when it's cold, I lit the wood burner again this week as the temp had dropped again, and it filled the garden with smoke for a while now is sorted it's self out, the cattery is warmer than my house it was 19 out there today I cleaned in a vest !! roll on the summer. We have babies due next week, lilac and chocolate's hopefully we wont have too many sleepless nights.

Wind and Rain go away, bring me back the snow every day !!

Well it's been a funny few hetic days, I took myself off to sunny weston-super-mare to see my parents and some cat friends and have a bit of me time. Funny how when your in a cattery all day you cant wait for a day away, to speak to other humans, but when your away you just worry about what's going on and miss the cat chat.
It's been raining all day here today ( I know how ducks must feel ) WET WET WET...... the cats just sit there in there warm dry homes, looking at me running around like a nutcase in the garden chasing bags, and greenhouses! We are expecting babies on the 26th so I am getting the kitten room ready, my litter of 8 weeks olds will have first vacine next week and are all reserved now, so I have nothing left for adoption at present. So to all those who have emailed for babies I am sorry but I will have some more later this month. Thats all for today.

Busy Weekend

Hi all, well it's been a busy weekend, with all the lilac cp kittens now finding new homes, all the new mums and dads will be waiting for my updates on the blogger, I will post some pictures tomorrow. Well we seem to be back into the swing of things here at the cattery and have now booked the next few months of shows and planned the following 3 months, this year I will be able to get back out onto the show circuit and I cant wait. Pinkies baby opened her eyes today and we have decided she should be called ripple, due to her coat colour (Choc) and her ripples all over her body, photo's to follow. Well I am off to bed now have a very busy day ahead tomorrow heading towards the beach at sunny W-S-M

Just another day at the Cattery !

January brings all the usual work,plus a bit more, we will be doing some repairs and renewals this month as we have shut the boarding cattery to visitors for the whole of January. Pinkies baby continues to go from strengh to strengh, for those who dont know Pinkie is a Devon Rex we have three here along with the brits, she had babies over the christmas period and lost 3 of them, but we still have one very precious chocolate devon who is a week old today and doing really well. I will post some pictues when eyes are open. As for the brits I am expecting Chocolate and Lilac babies at the end of this month. Well thats it for now I am off to start my rounds of feeding cleaning, grooming and stroking.... lots of purrs to be had. Have a good day all.
